The first time I ever ordered from them was a wonderful experience. I am a bassist who tends to be picky about his rosin (for the bow) as a lot of tonal quality depends on this. They didn't have one of the three brands I like to mix and match, but it was no big deal. They e-mailed me when I should expect it, and didn't charge my card till they shipped it. Their site was easily navigable, and they seemed to have lots of good things in stock that are not readily available.
That was the first, and unfortunately, the last good experience I have had w/them. Since then I made the mistake of ordering a Clarinet stand for my wife. It was one which she specifically requested for Christmas. As it showed to be in stock when I ordered it----NOVEMBER---I figured this should be easy. Guess what wasn't under the tree on December 25th. Half my order came in, and then I received----THE DREADED E-MAIL OF DEATH-- telling me the order would ship in early January. I re-assured my wife that things would be fine, and fortunately I had put Plan B under the tree. Something I knew she wanted, but was a little too shy to ask about.
January rolls around, and I receive another one of those blasted e-mails. Your order should arrive February 6th. Now I'm getting steamed, so I e-mail them on the customer assistance site. I get the standard issue B.S. about manufacturers this that and the other. February 6th rolls around and I get an e-mail for Feb. 16th as my new due date. Of course Feb 16th rolls around--Lo and Behold-----another frickin' e-mail-----March 16th. I'll probably get another e-mail.
This would be pathetic at best- even if they had told me the item was out of stock. Sadly, they did not, and let me order it as a Christmas Present. I certainly ordered well ahead of time. It's not exactly like I ordered a hand made instrument for Cripes sake. It's a clarinet stand----sheeesh!
