As a child, I used to dread going fishing with my father. He thought it was so much fun to be out in hot weather, and getting eaten alive by gigantic Mosquitos. We would stop by our local fishing store early, which I believe was called something like Billy Bob's Bait and Tackle, and pick up our worms and minnows. We would spend the day at the lake until the Sun went down, and have only a few Perch and Sunfish for all of our efforts.
I have the best father in the world, but he is not to be confused with an award winning fisherman. I'm not either, but I have had more luck pulling in some large Catfish and Bass in recent years. Although I did suffer from post traumatic stress disorder, due to a hook lodging in my finger from a fisherman, I have spent countless hours at streams, lakes, rivers, and the ocean fishing. If I had won the Powerball Lottery the other day, I would gladly quit my job and spend every minute fishing and hunting. However, since there is a bit of a problem called a mortgage and other bills, I cannot quit my day job.
Since some of these bills involve fishing and hunting clothing/equipment, I have decided to write this review dedicated to one of my favorite temptations. Bass Pro Shops is an amazing retailer, and their selection and prices are out of this world. Their website, www. Basspro.com, is the place to go when purchasing these items. This site is easy to use, and has a very efficient loading time. If you want to shop by category, you can choose from the following options: Freshwater Fishing, Fly Fishing, Saltwater Fishing, Hunting, Camping/Automobile, Marine/Electronics, Apparel, Footwear, Gifts/Around the Home, Clearance, Gift Cards, and Tracker Boats.
This level of organization by category, makes shopping a breeze. Actually, it makes it easy to spend lots of money. Unlike some other online retailers, you can go by category and then follow the subcategories to find what you are looking for. The apparel, which I buy a lot of from Bass Pro Shops, is easy to find. You can look up clothing, by areas such as weather conditions or by brand name. The website offers a substantial amount of these clothing items in the clearance section, and if you order off-season items you can save substantial amounts of money.
Ordering from the website is easy. All you have to do is click on the item and quantity. This highlighted item will be placed into your electronic cart, where you can complete the purchase. The Bass Pro Shop cart is easy to read as well, so there is no confusion over items that you've placed inside. If you have any problems with ordering, you can always contact their customer service online. This feature is similar to Instant Messaging, so you are speaking to the Customer Service Representative directly. This does not take a long time to load up, and I've been quite pleased with the level of help with this feature. I had some questions about some of the hunting waders I wanted to order, and my questions and concerns were answered right away. This online help feature is available from 8 am-8 pm CDT Monday thru Saturday, but you can email questions 24 hours a day/7 days a week. I haven't tried this, since their online help feature is so helpful. If you still have further questions, you can always call them directly at 1-800-976-6344 24 hours a day.
I have always used their standard shipping, which according to Bass Pro Shops, means you will receive your order in 5-10 business days. My order always comes in on the fifth day, and I've been very pleased with this level of efficiency. I have ordered four times from them online, and have never had any damaged products arrive at my doorstep. Their shipping rates are fairly reasonable as well, and run from $3.95(minimum) to $13.95.(maximum) Bass Pro Shops accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, and Gift Cards.
I like Bass Pro Shops a lot, and have been impressed with each order that I have received from my online shopping habit. The level of quality in their products is impeccable, and their customer service is outstanding. Their online store has the same level of dedication, that their retail stores have. I wish that there was a Bass Pro Shops store closer to me, because I've only been there once. It was a little slice of Heaven, and I almost had the urge to ask for St. Peter. The in store fish were something to see, and just the pure size of the place made quite an impression. Since time, traffic, and gas prices are a concern, I'll continue ordering their products online. I am a very happy customer, and fully recommend them for their fine products and level of customer service.
