by GlendaG | Oct 03 '01
Afghanistan used to be worth visiting but now it's impossible. The day will probably come again.

I read the trio of reviews and I found them really interesting. I enjoyed reading them very much. Such a hard life the people have, especially the woman.

Keep writing!!

to write about Pakistan. You are a good writer and even tho these trips were 30 years ago it helps many of us put things in perspective. Many news items tell us about Afghanistan today but it is nice to know what it once was like.

It is sad (Reply to this comment)

that it took such a horrible disaster to make the western world sit up and notice Afghan and the stifling Taliban government...

This was as good as part I and part II but I admit it made me sad too... These are such strange times we live in.

Please do write about Pakistan, I would love to read it.

What a Difference 30 Years Makes (Reply to this comment)

It sounds as though the Kabul you visited is very different from the Kabul of today. The documentaries that the news channels play non-stop today paint a very different picture. Thank you for sharing your memories of what once was, and what could again be.

Take care ~ nifer

have been very readable and certainly are topical. They helped me understand a little more of the country.

Thanks.
