Let me start this opinion first by saying, I AM an employee of Verizon in the CSSC in Upstate NY. And I am also a customer/consumer.
I enjoy my work at Verizon. I enjoy talking to customers. I DO NOT enjoy being sworn at, screamed at and threatened when a customer doesn't get their way. HOWEVER, I admit there are representatives who can be rude, abrupt and downright nasty. Hopefully, this is not you common experience with Verizon, as 99.99% of us strive to make your experience with Verizon a pleasant one.
That said, I am also a consumer of almost every Verizon product there is including DSL, which I absolutely, completely LOVE! I used dial-up for years and there is just no comparison. Imagine the difference of driving 30 miles an hour in a Jaguar and doing 90 miles an hour in a Jaguar. It's THAT fast! There are many incentives for you to try DSL right now. so call up and find out what's available. Once you've tried VOL DSL, you'll never go back to cable modem or dial-up again. You get unlimited access to the internet and 4 email boxes on VOL.
If you're subscribing to Local Package, Local Package Plus, or one of the new Veriation Freedome packages, ask about additional discounts for your DSL service and wireless service.
All packages not available in all areas:

Verizon Long Distance has many other calling plans too. A friendly representative will be happy to go over them with you. Ask about Best Times, SmartTouch, Talktime or check out E-values on their website.
Verizon also offers regional service in a variety of calling packages.
Don't make many regional calls? Ask about the Sensible Minutes calling plan. No monthly fee!
Make most of your calls on Saturday and Sunday? Inquire about the Weekend Choice calling plan! It may be just right for you.
Need premium services like caller id, call waiting, 3way calling? Add a ValuePack for optimum savings on your premium services, only $18.50 a month.
There is so much more that Verizon offers beyond local, regional and long distance service. If you have a need, we probably have the solution. Paging, wireless, caller id, voice mail, etc. It's all just a phone call away.
Not only are we there to help you with you needs for phone service, we're here to help you if you have problems or questions about your bill. Please keep in mind, if another carrier is billing you charges and they are coming with the Verizon bill, most carriers do NOT authorize Verizon to discuss those charges. In that case you MUST call that carrier directly on the number provided on that portion of the bill. Please understand this if a representative tells you this. Our hands are tied due to federal regulatory rules. We can't discuss ANY carriers charges, calling plans, service, etc. unless we have been authorized to do so.
I hope you find your experience with Verizon pleasant and helpful. Call today to find out what promotions may be offered to you. We've got many ways to save you money on your phone service.
