The Bottom Line Slim fast may not be for everyone. Do what is good for you to lose pounds safely and for the long term.

Howdy,
I'm no skinny minny, but I'm not too overweight. However, I do have plenty of room to lose. I do watch what I eat most of the time meaning I don't do the fast food thing except once a month. I'll go to Subway first, before the grease pits. Let's face it, I'm looking for a way to start a diet just like anyone else would and hope to go from there. I don't like to work out alot like some people. I walking and do Taebo. I tried the Slim fast diet. First, I tried the powder. For one thing, the stuff taste like chalk and for another thing the stuff ran right through me. I mean literally. I would go to the bathroom every 5 mintues and work which made me unproductive. I did this for 3 days before it finally hit me it was the slim fast. SO, I stopped it and wouldn't you know my bathroom binges stopped. I know slim fast isn't meant to work by making me go to the bathroom. Someone told me there is some bacteria that grows in the powder for some reason and could make you go to the bathroom. So, if your going every minute and on the Powder, don't take it. Stop for a day and see if that's what it is. If you stop going to the bathroom, the powder was the culprit. I just recently tried the shakes. The chocolate ones are decent. Your best bet is to go to Walmart for a good deal. I tried taking these for a month and at first I was getting along ok with just eating the shake for breakfast and then lunch, but I found I was getting hungry in between. The website states to have fruit or yogurt in between, but lets face it-eating that day in and out can get tiring and my body was requiring different foods. I wasn't taking it on the plan like I should have by taking one for breakfast and one for lunch then a good meal. So, I find my self having a hard time sticking to the plan. I don't feel it's for me. Not the mention the sugar content in it to make it taste good. I am going to check with my doctor on how much sugar intake should be taken in one day. One shake is like 35g of sugar and 2 of those shakes daily could hurt sugar levels if your a diabetic. It runs in my family and had diabetes with my daughter. So, Before I put my sugar levels on the line just for a quick fix diet, I'm going to check with my doc and I suggest you do the same if your border line diabetic. Watching calories, eating and working out is the only way to go.
