Do You Like the Subject of History? Then Consider the History Book Club
by Bryan_Carey | Mar 09 '06

Credit Card Info (Reply to this comment)
by andrea_lopez
This is a very good article. It was really helpful. I just joined the History Book Club and was really confused.
I didn't know if they were going to charge my credit card every month or so. I just ordered the 4 books for $4. But also in my order info it says that i will be mailed 5 books and i only ordered 4. Will i have to pay for that book as well?
Also will it charge my credit card every month?

I've disciplined myself to eschew book clubs! (Reply to this comment)

Hi Bryan-
Nice review - I think you captured the essential pros and cons of MOST book (and recording) clubs. For myself, dealing with the 'getting it to stop' is never quite as simple and straight forward as the initial promotions describe. I wind up feeling, at the outset, that I got a really good deal - then, with the time and energy it takes to 'escape', I have often wound up feeling that I have been had. So, when a book interests me, I buy it.
Keep on reading and writing - not that you need my approval or encouragement, but I DO enjoy reading your pieces.
Thanks.
David
