The Bottom Line Rent # 1, 2, 3, 4 (just kidding!), 6 and 10. Nothing else.

Wow, this actually requires serious thought. In all honesty, I've never even considered my favorite horror film let alone ten of them. But hey, I'll give it a try...

WARNING: You may agree with me but then again, you may think I'm stupid because I'm not mentioning a lot of the classics. Well you know what? I don't care! This is what's good (and not good) by my standards. You got a problem, take it up with someone other than me. Thank you.

Tremors
The first horror movie I saw therefore making it a must on the list.
It's about these monsters that are like giant worms with extremely sharp teeth and they, well, kill people. The monsters can tell where people are when they start to walk or run on the ground, so it's all about the sound waves, I suppose.
The special effects are cool and it was an original idea way back when. Plus it adds comedy and horror and to me, that makes a good film.
I haven't seen Tremors in, like, 5 years so everything's a blur but it's still an enjoyable film, making it # 10.

House on Haunted Hill
Chris Kattan's in it. That's all.

8
The Serpent and the Rainbow
The movie was stupid but the thought of being buried alive scared the crap out of me.

7
Monkey Shines
Not scary at all, I'm just running out of ideas.
I actually think this flick's pretty damned funny, you know, the whole thought of a helper monkey trying to kill you...ha!

6
Terror Tract
It's not good but it's funny and that seems to be a key element in my recent likings of horror films.
Come to think of it, this movie has a killer monkey in it, too! Wow, so original!

5
The Exorcist
Only one reason...
that damned face that pops out of nowhere. I'm sure it's the demon's face but I could be wrong because I could only watch it once.
I'll be frank here. Not a lot of movies freak me out because they're either
1) cheesy
or
2) completely unbelievable
but when I saw that damn face, I lost it. I couldn't help it, it freaked the hell out of me (not to the point where I couldn't sleep at night but very close). So it's safe to say that the only horror movie that scared a little was the Exorcist. Thank you very much.

4
Spice World
No explanation needed.

3
Event Horizon
Ooh, scary and gory..a perfect mix.
This is the only movie that when I watched it for the first time, I thought, 'wow, this is cool', and it's one of my favorites.

2
Blade
Yeah, it's more action than anything but Blade's one of my all time favorite movies ever so I can put it where ever I want.
Blade's one of those comedy/action/horror movies that's not too funny and not too over the top but action-savvy enough for everyone to enjoy, expect for the kids in the retirement homes who probably wouldn't understand it (no offence).

1
Army of Darkness
The horror/comedy genre rules again.
I like AOD so much because it's cleverness mixed with stupidity and that's a good brew in the end (if you know what you're doing. If you don't, then you've created something Ed Wood would've done). Plus, if I were to ever make a movie, it would end up like AOD.

Those worth mentioning yet not worth adding...
-Pumpkinhead: too stupid
-Village of the Damned: *in a creepy british accent* You're thinking it's a predictable film. Why are you thinking it's a predictable film?
-All those Stephen King book turned movies: Much better in writing than in living color.

There you go, I suppose that's it.
For now....mwahahahahahahahaaaa!!
