Hi! The Sam's Club near me closed awhile ago. The two BJ's stores that I visit are not near Walmart super-stores ... so there's no competition that way.

The parking lots in my local BJ's stores are pretty much full all the time. And the gas station at BJ's does a great business with their low prices.

Hope you enjoy a wonderful day!

Few Shoppers (Reply to this comment)

...well, BJ's seems OK -- but the one near me is nearly empty of shoppers most of the time... the large parking lot has few cars. But the super WalMart two-blocks away is always very busy.

Something's wrong ??

My local BJ's has a large & attractive fresh meat department -- but they can't possibly sell even a third of that inventory each day ... with such a small customer base.
What do they do with all that unsold meat each week ?

I don't see how they can stay in business at all.

At my previous home in another state, the local brand new BJ's did close after 2 years of very slow business.

COSTCO is booming, and Sam's Club does quite well -- BJ's is just barely hanging on.

Hi Barbara! Thank you for leaving the comment. I'm glad my review helped you.

My Aunt belongs to Costco and loves it. I don't have a Costco in my area so can't compare the two stores. I can see where hurricane supplies are important to you! It's great that you are able to "test drive" BJ's to see if it meets your needs.

Enjoy a fantastic day,

home from BJ's and got caught in the bakery section...:) My weakness a big box of New York style cookies...

We have been a member of Costco for years and just recently was given a trial membership at BJ's so we are trying to decide which one to keep when our costco membership expires next month..The only reason we might stay with Costco is their selection of Hurricane supplies, though I hope and pray we won't need them this year..

Your review was very helpful to me, thanks
