The Bottom Line If you want to dj you should definitely pick ups technic 1200s. Theyre the only way to go.
Unfortunately if your buying turntables for djing your going to have to spend a lot of money. I would advise buying technics 1200s these are the tables that I use. These tables are fairly expensive but they are arguably the most reliable tables in the business. In fact i would call them the industry standard. They are fitted with direct drive as opposed to belt drive which means it starts and stops faster i.e. scratching or in terms for everyone to understand if I put my hand on the record so it stops and then let go it would probably take 2-3 seconds or so for a belt drive to get back on pace but a direct drive is almost instant. Also the materials that it’s made out of are very reliable and durable. Probably the one main reason I like it better than other tables is that it rarely skips where as my old tables skipped all the time. You could probably buy two turntables for the price of one 1200 but you would have problems with skipping if you went the cheaper route where as I said before the technics 1200 practically never skips. As for sound quality you cant get much better than the 1200s. And for looks the standard is a sleek silver color that is very cool looking. These tables come in two forms the technic 1200 mk2 and the 1200 mk3. There is minimal difference between these and personally I would go for what I could get cheaper. If you cant afford buying technic 1200's. I would advise buying really cheap tables and saving up for them because they make a big difference. |
