Between being sick for almost my entire pregnancy with baby number four and trying to get homeschooling started for my oldest while preparing number two for his entry into preschool, I found that I had left many of the usual baby preparations undone. A mere four days before Tattoo arrived, I realized that my beloved breast pump was in need of some replacement pieces, and I needed to get right on it to order them so the pump would be ready to use. A quick online search led me to Baby Bungalow.
::: Snug as a Bug in a Rug :::
The Baby Bungalow splash page is simple, with custom graphics leading you to the nine main sections of products (infant carriers, breast pumps, strollers, personal baby care, gifts, new arrivals, neat gadgets, baby travel, and clearance items) immediately, without ever having to search through the site. However, if you do look around the splash page, you will also see a contact phone number (which can also be used for phone ordering) prominently displayed, as well as methods of payment accepted (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, and Diner's Club). A short blurb about the store also contains direct links to popular items such as Britax car seats and Dr. Brown's bottles.
Clicking on a product category will take you to a page with product names, prices, and thumbnails for easy browsing. Each product is accompanied by detailed product information, as well as convenient links to accessories that might be helpful to pick up at the same time.
Baby Bungalow also features a gift registry service, and a button to select an item for a gift registry is conveniently provided next to the "Add to Cart" button.
::: Finding Those Bits and Pieces :::
Baby Bungalow had the best price I could find on both items that I needed: silicone diaphragms and a replacement AC adapter. While they offer free shipping for orders totalling $175 or more, the $5.95 shipping rate for UPS Ground was more than acceptable for my order, especially since those AC adapters weigh a metric ton.
I did find it a bit curious that the shopping cart, which is run through a Yahoo storefront, did not give any choices for shipping method (the select box lists UPS, Fed Ex, Ground in one line). I'm left to assume that those are the options that Baby Bungalow will select from when shipping your order, and they will make their selection based on best method for the order.
Since I wasn't left with an option for shipping, I was pleasantly surprised when my order showed up a scant three days later (actually two business days if you consider the fact that I placed my order late in the afternoon). All items were exactly as advertised, and with the great prices, fair shipping charges, and quick shipment, I'd definitely order from Baby Bungalow again.
