It's built for the dirt and built for fun. Try it! Riding an off-road motorcycle or dirt bike as they're commonly called is an exhilarating experience. Growing up my brothers had bikes. It was a boy's sport back then, so I was never given a chance, although it always looked fun. My husband is an avid dirt biker. Last year he surprised me by selling his "boat project" and bought a bike for me, our son and himself. We picked up a used trailer, gear and were set to ride every weekend. The first 5 rides were pretty hard. As I got used to controlling the bike and my confidence grew I slowly began to enjoy it more and more. We ride on a hundred acre parcel in the mountains overlooking the beautiful blue ocean. (Have I given away my location?) There are thousands of trails to choose from as well as a large motocross track. The trail rides are amazing. Trail riding is a lot like hiking but more fun. With the views and the cool breeze you get while maneuvering through trees and hills, it is incomparable to anything else. I've heard from everyone I know how dangerous dirt bike riding is and I'm not going to dispute that isn't because i know it is. But now I finally have a glimpse of the draw my husband always had for it--how he talked about how he loved the smell of the exhaust and the sound of the engines. If you're looking for a challenging sport this is a great choice. Did I fail to mention that it's also one of the best forms of exercise? Disagree?
