Adorama has nearly been the perfect place to shop for camera equipment and accessories. Now it's photo processing is also exceptional.
I am a photographer and a returning student (I had a 15 year summer vacation from college), and have been buying my supplies at Adorama. Their servers are usually fast, their product descriptions very accurate, and they ship within 24 hours of the order. Their prices are on the low side of average - while you may get some things cheaper elsewhere, I've found that if you're placing an order for 2-3+ items, on average, the better deal is found here.
I have only ever had one "bad" experience with Adorama - their servers were getting clogged and I was ordering a photo. I may have goofed, because the settings were reset with the order was placed. When I received my print, I e-mailed customer service. They acknowledged that it was more than likely my mistake, but offered to take 50% off my reprint. So for a bad experience, I was still pleased.
As far as their photograph printing service is concerned, I just replaced my aging photo quality ink-jet with a cheap, lesser model, because with the high cost of ink (isn't ink-jet ink the most expensive fluid on earth, ounce per ounce?), it's cheaper to have someone else make my prints. They're not ink-jet prints, but (I believe) digitally projected images developed on photographic paper. There is no telling one apart from a 35mm print. The professional quality paper is a little pricier, but definitely worth while, it just screams luxurious, and lets the picture stand out. No more muddled prints, off colors, or prints ruined from touching them too soon. Every print I've had done (we're talking nearly 100) has been perfect.
Their customer service is not there for the hard sell, they don't play games or try to bait and switch or up-sell. They return my e-mails within 1 business day and do what they say. I could not be happier with them.
