The Bottom Line Shop around and do not feel that your baby will be made fun of in the playground for wearing a store brand diaper!
When my child was born we thought that the most expensive was the best, and that he should have the best. To that end we bought Huggies diapers for him at first, which worked out fine. Sometimes they would leak, but we thought that was just the nature of the beast. We also found that sometimes we would find a bit of gel either in the diaper or stuck to a cute little butt. At first we panicked and thought that something bad was going on until we found that it was just from in the diaper and harmless. Anyway, we decided that we shouldn't let Huggies corner the market, and made the change to Pampers when our child was too big for stage 2 and not really big enough for stage 3. We liked the pampers for a while too, going between the posh ones and the regular ones, but even those were not the best that money could buy, leaving him with a little pimple rash now and again. He has never really had a problem with diaper rash, for one reason that we use Bag Balm on him which was recommended by our doctor, so the rash he got with Pampers was a surprise. One day we decided that we would try a store brand, and ended up with Target, and for now are not looking back. They are cheaper for one, by a large margin. They seem to fit the size and shape of our child better that any of the others, and have not yet given him a rash. We have not yet had a leak with one of them neither have we found any loose gel on his backside. They also have a Kermit the Frog on them that is cute, but not too big and brash that it can be seen through clothes. My advice is that shopping around is the best way to go, advice from friends is OK, but your babies butt should be the final factor in choice. I would recommend trying store brands though as you will save a lot of money in the long run, and lats face it, it will be a long run! |
