| 42ENGLISH's Full Review: Suavitel Fabric Conditioner |
This is a resubmit as it was misplaced. I have deleted the first submission.
Let face it, we all love to have fresh, clean smelling clothes. We also like to get some wrinkle-free permanent press out of the dryer and for other fabrics, an easier ironing experience.
We want all this without getting allergic rashes from the ingredients that make this possible. I have to use gentle detergents and fabric softeners as my daughter has sensitive skin and she gets rashes from some laundry products. I like Downy but it just doesn't agree with her. The fabric softener I use is Suavitel Fabric Conditioner. I pay $3.49 for it and usually buy it from from Walmart Superstore.
Ingredients:
Cationic Fabric Softener, Perfume, Colorants.
This product comes in a 2 quart plastic bottle with a large dispenser cap. It also comes in four different scents:
Field Flower
Morning Sun
Festival of Flowers
Fresh Dew
Suavitel's Claim:
Easy ironing.
Protects fabric.
Soft as a mothers love.
Suavitel softens your clothes with a fresh scent your family will love.
Ironing is easier when you use Suavitel along with your detergent than when you use detergent alone!
My Experience:
This product is distributed by the Colgate-Palmolive Company of New York. The four different scents come in four different colored bottles. My preference is Morning Sun in the yellow bottle. It has a citrucy fresh scent with a dash of floral to make it interesting. I also like the Field Flower fragrance in the blue bottle which smells like fresh cut flowers. The scents leave your clothes smelling fresh and the scent lingers as you wear them. I particularly love the scent on my bed linens. It seems to stick around forever.
Most of the label is written in Spanish. Perhaps it is because this product is made in Mexico. Probably for me, one of its only downfalls as I do like to buy U.S. made products.
As far as fabric softeners go, this is no different from any other in consistency. It's a creamy yellow liquid that is measured by the cap-full. I find, however, that half a cap is enough for a full load of permanent press. It leaves fabrics soft and smelling fresh. I only use a whole cap on fabrics I need to iron. It gives them that extra softness that helps the iron glide over and take out any wrinkles (which are practically non-existent) easily. Sometimes, I don't have to iron at all.
I haven't had a problem with staining with this product but I never apply directly on the clothes either. I suggest that if your machine doesn't have a dispenser, you should add it to water before pouring it in. That used to do the trick with my old washer.
My daughter has never experienced any rashes with this product so that is one of the reasons I stick to it. However, I think it is a good quality conditioner and I would use it anyway.
Warnings:
Keep out of reach of children.
In case of contact with eyes, rinse thoroughly with water.
Some cotton-containing fluffier fabrics, including fleece and terry cloth, are more flammable than other fabrics.
By increasing fluffiness, using liquid fabric softeners can increase the flammability of these types of fabrics. Therefore, do not use this product on clothing made with these types of fluffier fabrics.
Not intended for use on childrens sleepwear or other flame resistant garments as it may reduce flame resistance.
Conclusion:
I like Suavitel Fabric Conditioner. It is gentle with few ingredients which keeps my daughter happy. The scents are fresh and long-lasting which is a great advantage on linens, especially. In fact, I have a lovely smelling clothes closet because of this product. It is competitively priced and I don't have to use as much on permanent press fabrics. What more could I want?
