I echo the other reviewers who say shun these guys like the plague. The bad news starts with the website -- you painstakingly enter your window dimensions, options, fabric, etc only to have some Smith + Noble employee re-enter that information, replete with errors. Their website should be set up so your order information is transmitted directly to the factory. Secondly, upon checking out, you enter your discount coupon code only to be told that Smith + Noble has to verify your coupon is valid before applying the discount. What gives -- I enter a coupon code on REI.com's site and voila, instantly I see the discount. Clearly Smith + Noble still has some serious back end programming to do on their website. I used the work in progress feature, thinking my work would remain, like making a wish list on amazon. Well, I returned to my work in progress after 10 min of inactivity only to find it had all been ejected -- I received some weird error message. Bottom line: don't be fooled by their 'slick' exterior -- the back end of their website needs some major money thrown at it.
Our order: we ordered honeycomb shades and one roller shade.
The roller shade was ordered in the wrong fabric due to an employee entering the wrong fabric code when they re-entered my order. Smith + Noble did issue a refund for this shade but I had to request it several times. I requested hold down brackets for one of the honeycomb shades and did not receive them with the order. Again, I had to call and request these again. Like other reviewers, the brackets shown in the mounting instruction booklet bore no resemblance to what we actually received. And, they are all the cheapest of cheap plastic. I'll be surprised if my shades work after a year. The loop control is especially cheap. The honeycomb shade fabric, however, is nice -- no complaints there.
Our honeycomb shades were delivered on time so again, no complaints there. And I had no problems getting through to customer service on the phone and they did return phone calls when they said they would.
Overall satisfaction: very low. If I had to do it over again, I'd pay the extra money and go with Hunter Douglas. I was initially lured to Smith Noble by the low prices but the poor quality of the product and frustrating order experience negate any savings.
