Such a better option than purchasing used

The Bottom Line: This is the first in what will be many Kia cars I will own.

I read one review on here that mentioned purchasing a new car for that "new car smell". What motivated me to purchase new for the first time in '04 was the realization that people really don't maintain things, they just replace them.

I had a bad experience with two domestic cars I had owned previous (and bought used) and was determend to learn my lesson.

With a new baby that had just arrived and being a student with unsteady employment, purchasing a new Rio was a big step. I suppose that's why I don't look at mine and go "Aww...I can't put a horse in my trunk" or "I really expected to go 0 - 60 in 4 nanoseconds, what a disapointment".

Please remember that the Kia line of cars is an alternative for those who might believe they can only purchase used. Not only is this car inexpensive, the maintanence is very cheap - what with free LIFETIME oil changes and a 5 year bumper to bumper warrenty - what more do you want?

I have also taken my Rio from here in Vancouver up into the Rocky Mountains to Kelowna in the winter, with my family, fully loaded with bags, strollers, presents - you name it. I have purchase winter tires and that has been a huge plus in gaining traction. It's a poor driver that blames his or her car for not being good in winter conditions. The Kia Rio runs over 100 KM/H in good Canadian snow just fine.
