The Bottom Line Can there truely be a bottom line? We need to watch closely where we tread with these actions we take.
Its been over a Month now, since that fateful day, September 11th, 2001. I will remember it well, as i suspect alot of people will. I will remember as well as how many speak of remembering what they where doing when J.F.K. was shot and killed in Dallas. One simple reason. The Attacks occured on My wedding aniversary. Aside from that, I had stayed up late the night prior, and managed to go to bed about 5 or 6 am, and so was asleep when it happened, but by the time I awoke at 11.30.- 12.00, it as all over the news. The wife and I cancelled any plans to go out, we spent the remainder of the day in front of the news watching the reports. This was a terribly sensiless attack, it did not need to happen, but to stroke the ego's of those that planned it, to show that they COULD indeed commit such an attack, a injustice on the North American Peoples. As a Canadian, I was very upset when President Bush 'neglected' to mention my Country in his speachs, but as I look back, Bush was smart, he needed and wanted England on side. I wouldn't worry about a brother, when I can concentrate on 'Uncle Joe' and getting his support for what I needed to do. England came through with flying colours, and was actually from what I understood from news reports, the first in Afganistan looking for Bin Laden. Here in Canada, our own Prime Minister had chosen to step back and look at it from a removed view. This I can understand, I do it often, it helps to keep one's life on track from those so easy to make mistakes. In my view, Canada, should concentrate on its security issues, of which we have plenty, and work on our laws which allow some terrorist groups to meet and plan on our own soil. You know, that whole 'I have a right to meet with others of like interests, I am not doing anything Illegal, go away, stop bothering me' attitide. We are sending over 3 ships, which is fine and good, but come on, our navy isnt up to snuff in my opinion. I have a job in a pizza store taking orders, and half the customers from the local base when asked for their phone number, either dont understand what I am saying, or dont realize that I am asking for the number on the payphone they are calling from :Duh, I dont have a phone...: I digress, and appologise. Anyways, there has been alot of thing said about Bin Laden. About him being disinherited, about he isnt, about how he's still worth a fortune, any of this is true, we won't really ever know on that. What we have to do though, is make sure he does not become another Hussein, another Hitler, another International criminal that is always hiding and never caught. On another aspect of this. I am scared. Scared for more then just one reason. First there are rumours of prophetic nature going around, Nostradamous, most likely fakes. Second, the Holy Bible itself, states that in the end times, "There will be wars, and rumours of wars." We are a short cry from this, we shall soon be overcome with the horseman of war, and Only those that dig in and pray regarding all these troubles we are having, can put off the end. Now that I have done with my more religious views on the issue, I will lend more into why. I am not scared of the end times, heavens no. What I am scared of, is the Third world war is looking more and more that it will not be nuclear weapons, atomic missles, and the like. It will be simply neighbour against neighbour. Get those islams next door, or down the road, kill them, drive them out, THIS IS NOT THE ANSWER, AND IF WE STOOP TO THIS, WE ARE NO BETTER THEN THOSE THAT COMMITED THE HEINOUS ACTS OF SEPTEMBER 11TH, 2001 I can see it now, which hunts, if you are even suspected of having anything to do with the terrorists, or any terrorist organisation, we will almost become like a nazi or communistic society to rid ourselves of them. Again, this is not the right way. What we need to do is pray, Pray to Jesus, Pray to the God of Abram, (In my beliefs essensially the same God of the Islams). September 11th, we are also coming up on a another holiday, which will gain more reason to pause and consider the price of non-dilligence. Rememberence day, November 11th. The 3 month aniversary of the attacks. I suggest we all get out and support our local legion's or veterans group's, and of course our emergency services and show how much you appreciate them. Without the veterans, we would not have the free society today to live in. And your local emergency personal, just because they would have likely done the same as what the NYC police and emergency crews did, risking and giving their life in the name of the public good. True hero's are not all that hard to find, they are in all of our own backyards. Be dillegent, but let us not loose our freedom through overkill. Peace, and God Bless.  |
