My son is now a Freshman in High School and already I've been researching college aid plans. A few things I found out that weren't mentioned in your review is #1 Grades the higher the grade point average the higher the chance is of getting a scholarship or even a discount at the school your applying for. #2 the FAFSA needs to be mailed in as close to Jan. 1st as possible but not before it's a year to year thing and another suggestion I was told was to write the State Representative a letter stating that you have applied for (6) colleges and would like to request a letter of recommendation from them. Include the wonderful things you do, volunteer work, good student, activities and clubs.
