The Bottom Line I recommend you think long and hard , weigh out the positives and negatives before making such a large step .
Homeschooling ... Are you ready ?
____________________________________________________________
I think at some point every parent feels it is time to give up on school and bring the kid ' s home under our protective wing . This isn't going to be some long - winded review , merely some questions you may want to ask yourself before getting into the program .
Q . Is my child mature and well behaved at home ?
A. If your child barely listens at home and you can't get them to do their homework , imagine actually trying to teach them eight hours per day .
Q . Is my child hating school ?
A. All kid's will go through a period that they hate school for some reason or another . To yank them out will teach them to run from their problems .
Q . How do I get started ?
A. The best thing to do would be to talk to someone who is already doing .... and isn ' t earning a commission for getting you signed up .
Q . Will a college accept their graduation ?
A . Like many at home services there are downfalls . Many home school graduate Diplomas are considered to be GED s . ( Graduate Equivalancy Diplomas ) If this is true , kiss all but a community college goodbye for the first couple of years .
I have gone through the whole homeschooling bit . Let me tell you it is not a bed of roses . A lot of thought and consideration needs to go into this before making the transition . The best thing to do would be to find a group doing it ..... of course , that is nearly the same as a regular school .... isn ' t it ?
