Does anyone honestly like cleaning the shower or bathtub? I hate cleaning the bathroom at all, but there are few jobs as annoying as scrubbing soap scum and hard water spots.
I am a member of a website called BzzAgent. This site offers you the chance to try different products and then share your experiences with the product with others. I was recently given the chance to try out a new product by Scrubbing Bubbles. The Scrubbing Bubbles Automatic Shower Cleaner was delivered to me and cleaning the shower has become a piece of cake!
About the Product
I received the Automatic Shower Cleaner kit which came with the cleaning unit, 2 bottles of cleaner, a hook, and 4 AA batteries. The kit costs about $25.
To use it,insert the batteries and then snap one of the bottles of cleaner into the unit making sure the label faces the back. Use the hanger to hang the unit from your shower head. It is pretty big and heavy, but it stays nicely. The hanger has a rubber gripper so that it won't go sliding off the shower head.
You are supposed to use it once a day after the last shower of the day. While the shower is still wet, push the blue button located on the front of the unit. It will beep for around 15 seconds giving you time to exit the shower. Then the small rotating head will spin around and spray cleaner all over the shower. You don't need to scrub it or come back and rinse it off. The cleaner runs down the walls of the shower and cleans everything for you.
You can use it in a regular shower or in a tub with a curtain. It can be used can be used in most showers, including fiberglass, acrylic, and plastic shower stalls. It is also safe for plastic shower curtains. Do not use in showers with brass fixtures, natural marble, or finished wood surfaces.
My Experience
You can use this Automatic Shower Cleaner on a dirty shower or on a clean shower. If you start on a clean shower, it will be kept clean. If you decide to start it in a dirty shower, within 2 weeks you will supposedly notice that your shower has gotten cleaner. We recently remodeled our master bathroom so I put our cleaner in the brand new sparkly shower in hopes that it would stay that way.
I have been using this for a good month now. My shower, for the most part, still looks completely brand new. I have yet to scrub it. Our bathroom does not have the best of ventilation so we are prone to mildew and mold growing in the shower if I don't keep up with the cleaning. So far there is not a hint of anything growing in there.
We also have very hard water. I am accustomed to seeing hard water spots on the shower door. The bottles of shampoo and shower gel are usually corroded with white crusty hard water spots. Not anymore! The door is clear and the bottles are completely clean.
In case you are wondering, it is perfectly safe to have the cleaner spray on your shampoo and soap. I don't really like the idea of cleaner being sprayed on my razor, shower pouf, or my husband's bar of soap so I've place those higher up on the shower organizer where they are out of the way of the spray.
Our shower is pretty small so there is no problem with the spray reaching everything. It can spray to reach over 8 feet so bigger showers and tubs should be able to get clean.
I have been very impressed with how well this product has performed in our shower. I think starting out with a clean shower is the way to go. I don't think this will completely replace all scrubbing, but I do think it is a huge time saver. I do plan on scrubbing out the shower pretty soon just to make sure it really is getting clean. I am surprised at how well it prevents hard water buildup from forming as this is one of my big problems in the bathroom.
I will continue using this. I love how much time it saves me each week when I clean the bathroom.
