The Bottom Line If u just need something to help keep you organized and give u wireless internet access to be able to check ur email and chat this is the product.
I was looking for a pda with enough memory and wireless access. I got a Palm viix for 160$. Palm also is going to give me 100$ rebate after 3 months because I have a service contract with them for palmnet the wireless internet service. They have 3 different plans setup and each person just has to choose the plan for them. I'm going to get a portable keyboard to go along with it so I can take notes when i'm in meetings. I can already take short notes. It's very easy to use and I didn't have to read any of the instructions other than the quickstart guide that took about 5 minutes or less. I like this so much because it is my datebook, address book, to do list, i send and recieve email, I can check my stock quotes, I can shop and I can research. You need to make sure though if you want to use the wireless internet access that your area is covered and you can find that out by going to www.palm.com . If you don't want the wireless internet it is still really cool. I can play games on it and I think who would waste money on a gameboy if they could get all I get from just my palm. There are programs that you can download for free, some are freeware, demo's and shareware. I bought one program that allows me to edit and carry my office 2K files with me word, excell, and powerpoint files. it's small and it fits in my purse very easily. I don't need paper and pen to make notes or get phone numbers anymore. The calendar is so easy to use. I can even set it up to remember certain dates every year like those special birthdays and I can set an alarm to go off several days early to tell me the event is coming soon. They have 8MB of memory and that's a lot more than some that cost around the same amount of money have and those usually only have about 2MB and they don't have wireless internet access. If I had to recommend a palm pilot to someone that needed wireless internet access and help in keeping track of all kinds of events, phone numbers and things to do this is what i would recommend. I can even chat with my friends online with it on yahoo messenger.
