I got a kick out of this because I never heard of anyone purchasing a trash barrel for keeping out the dog(s). What a great one this is!
I liked the butterfly idea and know what you mean about the clanging of the up/down covers. That's the reason I usually remove the covers on mine.
My dog is a lady! She runs around the house and pulls 1 thing only out of the low wastebaskets, just to let us know she was there!
