Everybody knows that Bestbuy is the ultimate one-stop electronic superstore. wide range of products, knowledgeable floor staff, multiple store location, in-store cutomer service is great!
on the other hand, we also know that bestbuy don't have the best prices, if your trying to get good deals, this isn't the place for you, but you will get great service (warranties and in-house service at bestbuy are unbeatable), thats for sure.
but...after a few times of online purchasing experience with bestbuy, i finally realize that even a store as big them have flaws. While they do a super job in the stores, online is certainly not their specialty.
Yes, still wide range of products, yes, warranties are still offered. but here are the flaws that i realized:
1. there are options to pick up or deliver, might as well deliver beacues pick up is rarely useful. out of the 3 times i've chosen for in-store pick up, twice none of hte stores near where i live have the product, and the last time, they said on the web that they have it, only to find out the next that that the item is actually out of stock.
(online info is inconsistent)
2. out of the 3 times i've have the items deliver, all of the tracking number were invalid...so much for tracking where my products were.
3. when calling customer service, they are always assuming that you are an angry customer, (which I wasn't...ever!) so actually their overly defensive behavior was what made me angry.
conclusion: bestbuy is still one of my top choices for electronics getaway. but i've learned my lessons and only get involved with bestbuy when directly go to their stores. if you don't have the time to go to stores, i most certainly think that buying electronics from online specialty stores are the better way to go.
ps: fyi, last week i looked up an "out-of-stock" (not available for pick up) item online, and went straight to the store, and ta-daaaaaa, there was the item, seating comfortably on the shelf, numbers of them!
bestbuy definitely have the resources to be one of the best on the market, but surely, building a better online experience would make them on the top of the game
