"A Dr.Seuss-esque" review on EPINIONS: By queenofallevil

The Bottom Line Don't let the Boss "Grinches" ruin Epinionville!!
Stand up and be a proud "ep"!
Once, not long ago, in the year ninety-nine,
There was a few people online with plenty of time.
They pondered and wondered of what they should do...
"Let's make a writer's forum!" Said Boss number 2.
"What a fine idea!" said Boss number 1..."And if we're lucky, we'll make a profit when it's done!"
So they tinkered a bit....and before they knew it:
EPINIONVILLE was created! (Too bad they blew it.)
Epinionville was once a fun and great land,
The little "ep" writers wrote as much as they can.
"Isn't this great???" a little ep quipped,
"Someone cares what we think!" another ep yipped.
Yes, all was well in Epinionville, until one fine day...
THE EPINION BOSSES SNUCK IN AND STARTED TAKING THINGS AWAY.
They took the 3 cent hits, and took the just-in,
They changed the expert system, then they said with a grin:
"We're changing things around, but it's all for the best.",
Smiling as they took pennies from the little ep's chest.
"Things will be better, soon you'll all see, we're just making some small changes....to better the site, don't you agree?"
The little eps nodded, and continued to write, if the bosses said it was okay, they had to be right!
Typing and rating, the little eps kept going, then more changes were made without the eps knowing.
Again things were missing, and no one knew why....
"What is going on?!?", the eps began to cry.
They sent the bosses some emails, but never got a reply.
They took the advisors and switched them around,
Messages from the bosses started to abound:
"Sorry we haven't paid yet, but please don't worry..."
"We'll shortly fix the problems up in a hurry!"
The eps kept on writing, though all was askew.
Even when Web Of Trust was placed out of view!
The comments were moved from over here to over there,
The bosses moved everything as if they just didn't care.
All through September, Epinionville was a mess.
Why it all happened is anyone's guess.
Comments couldn't be posted, and nobody could enter the site. The little eps started to wonder "Is everything allright?"
But they tried to push forward, through thick and through thin, posting reviews whenever they could get in.
In the year zero-one, the month of October...
The Epinionville bosses said the party was over.
"Your reviews are now ours! You can not deny it!!"
"You may not edit, or remove, so don't even try it!"
And if that bomb wasn't big enough the bosses had just laid,
they said with a smile:
"By the way, you'll no longer be paid!"
The little eps looked the bosses in the eyes, puffed up their chest and replied full of pride:
"You never did get it, it wasn't the cash we were after!"
"You hardly paid us anyway!" They admitted with laughter.
Hand and hand the eps started to pack, promising to leave Epinionville and never look back.
They stood in line, and took their last coins,
feeling as if they were just kicked in their groins.
One by one they left to visit new places, with tears streaming down their little ep faces.
Soon there was only one ep left, ready to head out.
Before he did, he turned and gave the bosses a shout:
"It wasn't the money..." he stated once more.
"It was respect." He whispered.
....then he head out the door.
This review is dedicated to all my friends on epinions. Bless all of you, thanks for letting me make you laugh. This could very well be the last bit of "Helpful Humor" I can give you....we'll see how it all goes.

UPDATE: Ya know what...I liked writing this, and it's on-topic, so I am keeping it, even if I don't get paid for it. May it serve as a reminder of the past, and honor those Epinions Blows Dogs members who fought to get the edit/delete option back. I was proud to call myself a member, thanks to all of you who participated and supported us!
