Love = Affection

The Bottom Line If you love someone, you gotta not only tell them, but show them!

My fiance and I grew up in two totally different ways. I was shown affection at all times, but his parents split up when he was young and shipped him back and forth between each other.

My fiance grew up afraid of love. Thinking that as soon as he would get close to someone that they would turn their backs and desert him. That is not a healthy way to live.

Anyone and everyone deserves to feel loved at all times. Affection can come in so many different ways. I show my affection to Chris by telling him and showing him that my love is pure. Whether it be by an occasional card, cooking a candle-light dinner, or even cuddling by the fire on a chilly night. Affection can also be defined as love. If you love someone, no matter what you do, it is some form of affection.

My aunt is not a sentimental person. In fact, I think she has told me that she loves me once my entire life. But I know that she loves me because she shows me affection. It may be bizarre to some people, but I know what she means. Every once in a while she will just call me up to say hi, see how I'm doing. Or maybe she will buy me an outfit (God knows I need some more clothes!). But that is her way of showing me that she cares, it's her affection.

As long as your words are not hollow, and your actions are not cold, you will always be shedding affection on the people that you care about.
