I just wanted to share something I recently learned about the deep blemishes that are painfull. These blemishes are under the skin and although they appear red and swollen do not have a white head. I suffer from this kind of blemish more so then your typical pimple. It seemed no matter what I put on it, nothing would make it go away and these things hurt. Finally I consulted a dermatoligist. He told me that these types of blemishes were not pimples they are cysts. What causes these cysts. Quite frankly, stress. I was told by the dermatologist that this was not a result of gressy skin or blocked pores, this is stress. The dermatoligist took care of that cyst for me. He used a suringe to drain thr cyst. This was not plesent and I did not want to go through this everytime I got one of these things. What you can do at home. First and foremost do not try to drain one of these things at home! Not only will it end up looking horrible but you risk infection. Here is what you can do: 1. use a hot wash cloth as much as possible. I wet a wash cloth and heat it up in the microwave. 2. use Neosporin. If you put Neosporin on the blemish before you use the heat this will help the antibiotics in the Neosporin sink in. 3. For those of us who wear make up every day here is a trick. Take a small amount of Neosporin and mix it with your foundation, use this over the blemish. This also works for regular pimples. Sometimes Neosporin isn't strong enough for these cysts. My dermatoligist gave me another antibiotic cream called E-myicin. Oral antibiotics are also helpfull. With any of these you should still use heat. The heat will help break up the blemish and bring it to the surface. I hope this has been helpfull. I would like to think I'm not the only person who suffers from these cysts.  |
