Shame on You?

The Bottom Line My opinions are free. Want my opinion on something? Just ask, and I'll give it to you.
There was posted, in this place, my opinion concerning the infamous "Epinions Blows Dog" write-off and why I chose not to participate.
I read a number of these "Epinions Blows" reviews. Some were quite funny and original. Some were quite nasty and mean. Some were even slanderous and hurtful. Most were Not Helpful from the perspective of a consumer looking for reliable product information and purchasing advice.
I explained that one thing that I really appreciated about the Epinions community is that is does have a counter-culture and a subset of members who are "anti-advisors." I think they make the site fun, vibrant, and interesting. And I wouldn't want this to change (within reason).
At the time that I deleted my commentary, it was rated:
4 - Most Helpful
175 - Very Helpful
2 - Helpful
2 - Not Helpful (anonymous)
To those who found my opinion to be "Not Helpful," I hope you found the information you needed elsewhere on the site.
That being said, I ask that no further ratings be assigned to this review. The comments will stand unless individual members delete their submissions. I shall not edit their contributions.
