Pros: Set-up and installs were a snap. Excellent performance. Durable body with floating top.
Cons: My grumble, a couple more feet on the enclosed USB would have been nice.

| mknofler's Full Review: Canon CanoScan 8400F Film Scanner (35 mm), Flatbed... |
After a long trial and error period the final call was made on what my last scanner purchase would be. After years of film photography and darkroom work I have made the change to digital. The CanoScan 8400F allowed me to keep all my old 35 mm negs and slides in play. This scanner and software has proven itself past all expectations. I have scanned 35 mm negs from 30 years ago and produced final prints of excellent quality. But the deal was even better with the performance of the copy, e-mail, PDF conversion and the flatbed scanning features. All this for less than the cost of a decent flash attachment! It does what it claims to do and nothing less. How often do you see that these days?
