Extremely unrecommended. Of course, I got the sales call pushing extras. I unequivocally declined, the guy says fine, I’ll send your order right out. A couple days later I notice my credit card has been charged an extra $40. When I call, I am informed that, in addition to my camera, I ordered a $40 battery (which sells elsewhere for more like $18). I then send an angry email. They reply offering a refund on the battery, including the shipping cost of returning it. I ship it with signature confirmation. When they pick it up at the post office (after not signing for it when it was delivered), it then takes them 10 days to issue a refund. A refund of the price of the battery only, no shipping costs (which I even agreed to accept only a dollar for, considering they never told me to send it with signature confirmation, and it would have only cost a dollar otherwise). It simply isn’t worth my time to pursue this any further. I couldn’t let them get away with $40, but I guess I’ll let them take $1.
The only positive (well, more like non-negative), of the experience was the package arrived. And it arrived on time (7 days). And, as many of these reviews may tell you, this seems to be a problem for this company. At least for their customers who don’t agree to buy cheap third-party accessories at inflated prices.
In any case, this has been a horrible experience. I should have spent the extra dollar in the beginning to buy from a reputable source. The sales call is bad enough, but the fraudulent use my credit card, amounts to just that, fraud.
Luckily this company is located in New York, a state who’s Attorney General is a junkyard dog about consumer issues. I have contacted him and the Better Business Bureau and wholeheartedly urge anyone else who has been wronged by Click for Digital to do the same.
UPDATE: May 3, 2006
After informing them that I would be posting negative reviews on sites like this, they offered to refund the full shipping price (including the signature confirmation), if I'd change my review to a perfect one.
Then, after they read my review, they emailed again to add $10 cash to their offer.
So I guess we can add bribery to their list of offenses.
It's kinda funny. Throughout this whole ordeal, I never received a response quicker than these ones...
