This game is for people who do not like to read manuals. The manual is very thin and I think they did this so that people will go out and buy the strategy guide for this game. Now that I have my major complaint out of the way, let me tell you about the Good!
This is a game where you play God. You can be Good or Evil, depending on your personality. The graphics are beautiful, and the sound is wonderful to the ears.
The learning curve of this game is good. It takes some time to master the controls but once you have it figured out, the game takes off.
The monster creator in this game is great. You can play it for this feature alone...Making the monster do all your miracles or dirty deeds is the fun part of this game. When you slap him around a little bit it is quite amusing.
Getting your village people to survive can be tricky, but it can be done with some effort.
As a final thought, you better have one hell of a system to run this game though. With all the various camera angles and graphics and sound, it takes a powerful system to play this game. I have a Sony VAIO Pentium III with 192 meg of ram and at times it seems to run slow....Not sure if its the machine or the background programs that may be running. Have not tried shutting down the background programs yet.
But if you are looking for a great game do not pass on this one...It is worth the money!
