Pros: excellent photography, great articles, nice giveaways, a terrific magazine all-around
Cons: the quality of the paper it is printed on is too "classy" for teens
The Bottom Line: This is a magazine that parents will feel comfortable giving to their teens, and something that their teens would love to read.

| ArtMom's Full Review: Teen Trend Magazine |
As a teacher in a public high school, I deal with the youth of America on a daily basis. Since I am Art Director for the school district, I deal with both middle school and high school students-- not to mention all of the young ones, too. I firmly believe that the youth of America needs positive messages to set them on the right path, to guide them, to be a good influence on them.
What better way to get these messages to teenagers than through a teen magazine? I constantly see students flipping through magazines during study hall, lunch and classes. They can't access the Internet during these times, nor can they watch television. A teen magazine is the perfect medium to get positive messages to teenagers.
Teen Trend Magazine fills a void left by so many other magazines out there. Rather than focusing on sex, makeup and clothes that make you look older, Teen Trend Magazine offers alternatives to negative behavior, yet doesn't preach to the reader. The magazine focuses on positive messages instead of saying, "You shouldn't do" xy and z or "You must do" xy and z "to be cool/popular/hip/etc."
Furthermore, Teen Trend Magazine is for both guys and girls. Even though the only issue available is the prom issue (which deals with more girlie things, like prom dresses), there are still terrific unisex articles, including music, book and movie reviews, a couple of articles about what to do over the summer, different stories on prom activities, an article about voting, product reviews, giveaways and more. The photography is excellent and the stories are very well-written.
I like Teen Trend Magazine because it is a bit on the conservative side of life. It encourages teenagers to be, well, teenagers. All of the models look like "real" teens. Even more, all of the articles pertain to anyone aged 12 - 18. (Except for the prom articles, of course.)
The only aspect of Teen Trend Magazine that I didn't like is the quality of the paper that it was printed on. I am very familiar with printing, and I would guess that this paper is at least 80-pound. It needs to be much less. Rather than looking like a teen magazine, it looks like a trade magazine or a souvenir program book. Perhaps the next issue should be printed on thinner paper. I think that would make it even more appealing to the targeted audience.
I am handing out Teen Trend Magazine to all of my classes next week. The students that have already seen this magazine absolutely love it. The fact that it is only $10 to subscribe makes this magazine even better.
Teen Trend Magazine is a magazine that parents - and teachers - can feel comfortable giving to the teens in their lives. I highly recommend this magazine to parents, teenagers, administrators, teachers and anyone else that would even consider reading a teen magazine.
