CD's with excellent view on history without watering down the actual math!

Pros:interesting, helpful, tells history
Cons:Can't I turn the volume off w/o turning off my speakers?
The Bottom Line: Each subject is on a different cd and all the information is covered in depth.
I wanted to review mathematics and also learn about the history of it. After looking at many different books (which I'm still looking into for even greater history of math), I decided to get computer software. It's great to have it on the computer, this is a computer age. And considering some tests are being put on the computer, it's good to practice the skills on the medium that's going to be used. I had seen a set just like these (maybe different publisher and not as broken down) at a computer show a few years ago for $10. Although I wanted them, I wanted to shop around.
I had seen different versions from different companies, but when I saw this one, the way it was set up, and what it offered, I had to get it. A few weeks later it was on sale at Best Buy. $15 off. The set up is good and very easy to use. The history of different concepts it provides is great from the civilization and times to why and how it's useful.
The explanations and problems provided on the cd in the lesson and in review sessions (including the booklet) are great!
There are cd's for pre-algebra, algebra I, algebra II, geometry, trigonometry, one for precalc and calc, and one for stats. It's a useful tool for junior and senior high students, depending on when all the subjects are offered, but it is very, very helpful even if you want to teach yourself the material or just review. You still might need some paper, but a calculator is provided. Where are our high tech, low costing, completely interactive computers? Just kidding, but as far as quality and amount of information covered, this covers a lot more, a lot better, than some competitors.
