Playstation 2 has been hyped months before its release. With what the original playstation has done with the video game world, I had a really good feeling about the second version. I went out to buy one. However, it was almost impossible to get one even if you pre-order it. Therefore, I decided to wait for a few months. Finally, I got the system, and well it turned out to be as good as I thought was.

Graphics

The graphics for this system are spectacular. While playing NBA Live 2k1, I honestly thought it was a real NBA game that I was watching. The players faces all looked real, the arenas all looked real, and the motions of the players were all very realistic. I soon rented a racing game called Ridge Racer V, and the graphics for that game are tremendous as well. While turning up the track, I can see the beach and sunlight as if it were real life. Overall, the graphics were great for this system and should get better in the next couple of years.

Sound

The sound for the system is very good as well. There are no real great improvements from the original playstation, although I really liked Ridge Racer’s sound effects since they all sounded very realistic. However, maybe they will come out with more RPG’s in which you can actually hear the people talk instead of reading the dialogues.

Features

Here is where the system really does well. There are a huge amount of features that come with the system. One great one is the ability to play playstation games with playstation 2. Now, all you have to do is sell your PS1 and you can get some money back. Another great feature is the DVD. You can watch your favorite DVDs with the playstation 2 and see them in great quality. Not to mention there is a CD player that can play music with it as well. Although there is no internet access yet for the system, there will be within a few months.

Overall

Overall, this system is definitely worth the 300.00 bucks you have to pay for it. Why? Because you get a playstation, playstation 2, a cd player, a dvd player, and possible internet access soon, all for the price of 300 dollars. Some DVD players cost over 300 dollars, so it is definitely worth getting this system.
