Yea, I guess I have a natural adversion towards covers that sounds a lot like the original. I don't see the point in making the cover if it's just going to be basically the same song.

Same here. I think "We're Going to Be Friends" is one of the best songs on the album. Sure, the instrumentation doesn't stray from the White Stripes version, but I think Johnson's voice makes it a much more upbeat song than White's, who makes his almost satirical.
