Its been a week or two since I was a teenager, but I vaguely remember that we had magazines geared to our lifestyle way back when. However, what I remember from those magazines was the articles werent about us, the people, but them, the stars. Maybe there were publications available that talked with us not to us, but I dont remember them. That is what makes Teen Trend such a unique publication.
Teen Trend Magazine goes directly to the people it caters to and gets their ideas and input. Their stories are about, and by, young people and focus on the positive things in life instead of the negative. Their advertising is geared to the teenage set because that is what this magazine is all about.
While I know that Candice923 ran into some heady difficulties getting this first publication off the ground, she has done a remarkable job getting the first issue out to the public and grabbing the audience with vibrancy and panache.
The premier issue of Teen Trend came out the first of May with bold and beautiful colors, a well designed layout, and articles to interest its target audience. The photography was eye-catching and made you want to keep turning the pages to see what was next. The stories were interesting to read and offered helpful information as well as great ideas.
The focus of this issue was Proms and there isnt anything as exciting as your first prom. The magazine topped it off with a highlight of students preparing for their prom at Belleport High School in New York and put all the glitz and dazzle in that makes a prom, at least for a young lady, all it should be. Im still not sure, to this day, how those young men feel about those tuxedos.
The magazine also promotes many items that teens vie for and offers them in a monthly give-away contest that makes it possible for them to win any manner of items. Everything was available from designer prom dresses to jewelry to even deodorant and Febreze - hey, they had it all. In addition, it offers the opportunity for teens to become part of the magazine by entering their name in the sweepstakes for modeling or even to have their school highlighted in an upcoming issue.
This magazine is directed in the positive nature. It would be a great publication to offer in schools or even offer the opportunity for you and your teen to discuss the articles. Im not saying the world is a clean and shiny place but why highlight the negative when so little is available to accentuate the positive? This is a positive experience and should be shared by all.
Frankly I found reading this issue refreshing and while I dont long to return to my teens to enjoy this magazine, I did order a yearly subscription for my 12 year old granddaughter. The yearly subscription price, at least at this time, was only $10.00, which is a steal, and they accept Paypal payments - a bonus! The single issue price is $.3.75 and well worth every penny.
I wish Candice the greatest of luck and all the success in the world. Teen Trend Magazine could very well set the trend for the future.
Thanks,
Susi
