Pros: Inverter cooking system. Deep and has a turnstyle.
Cons: No actual door handle, it's a push-button.
The Bottom Line: I recommend the PANASONIC MID-SIZE for everyone. My parents were able to set up and use by themselves.

I bought this for my parents for Christmas. Their other microwave from Sears was older than me. I am not kidding here either. After house sitting while they were out of town, I was left with the dinosaur. After that weekend I knew the perfect gift. But I had to make the old one dissapear. "Honey our microwave works just fine, we didn't need a new one". Oh yes they did.
Now after five months of use and my testings, I am glad I bought this for them, and when mine dies, I will buy this same one. What I got them was a Panasonic Microwave Oven, Model # NN-S740. Power source is basic 120 volts, 60 Hz. Outside is slick black, if they had another color it was not offered. Outside size is 11&15/16" H x 21&7/8" W x 19&9/16" D. Inside is 9" H x 16&7/16" W x 18&1/2" D.
SAFETY:
1) Read all instructions FIRST!
2) This appliance MUST be grounded.
3) The location of this appliance must be followed as on page 3.
4) Do not block or cover the openings of this unit.
5) Do not store this unit outside nor use outside.
6) Use this appliance for it's intended use. Do not use corosive materials, vapours, or non-food items.
7) When cleaning, use only mild non-abrasive soaps or detergents.
8) Do not let children use this appliance. (duh)
9) Do not opperate this appliance if the cord or plug is damaged.
10) Do not immerse the cord or plug nor the unit in water.
11) Keep cord away from heated surfaces.
12) Do not let the cord hang, keep tied up.
13) This appliance must be serviced by qualified personnel only.
14) Some products such as whole eggs, narrow neck bottles and sealed containers may explode and should not be heated in this unit.
15) Do not tamper or adjust this unit.
16) Do not opperate empty.
17) Do not dry items in this unit. (this includes pets!)
18) Do not use recycled paper products unless they are microwave safe.
19) Always use potholders to remove an item from inside.
INSTALLATION & GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS
1) Examine oven when pulling from packaging, make sure it is not damaged in any way.
2) Placement of oven must be on a flat, stable surface.
a) must have air flow, do not block air vents.
b) do not place near sink or electric/gas ovens.
c) do not opperate when humidity is high.
3) This unit MUST be grounded.
(it does note how to find out if wires are grounded and if not, it recommend's a professional to ground them)
4) Power supply is a short cord to provided to prevent risks. {longer cord sets or extension cards available and may be used if care is exercised in their use).
5) This must be on a separate circuit.
6) Tv and radios may cause interference.
7) Roller ring and glass tray must be used at all times.
There is a cookware and utensil guide included that lets you know, what may and what may not be used inside this unit. Very extensive.
There is a diagram of what to clean, and how to clean every part of this unit. Also this parts lists the part numbers if you need to order a new one. IE the glass tray.
A control panel diagram has all the featured buttons labeled and numbered for future ref. in this manuel.
The next 8 pages of this manuel are step-by-step instructions of how and when to use each button.

My parents are in their late 50's and they had this microwave up and running within an hour. The directions are very simple to read and follow. Can't say that about thier VCR. But that will be next Christmas. I have to say after all these months this Panasonic has made a believer outta me. It cooks very throughly. From the inside out. Love the browning settings. Oh and you know how you use the microwave for the popcorn bags, and now matter what you do they burn. Well not anymore. It takes less time for ALL the kernels to pop and I haven't had a bag burn yet. I am at my parents a few time's a month. I have decided when my 10 year old microwave dies, it will be replaced to a Panasonic Inverter one.
The defrosting settings are really great. For dinner I convinced my mom NOT to make salmon for dinner, rather chicken. Hate fish, choking and gaging here at the thought. So I grabbed a WHOLE chicken, unwrapped it and placed it in the microwave. Pushed 'express defrost' then 'chicken' the set the timer for 5 minutes. I was then going to flip over for another 5 minutes. When the timer dinged I found it already all defrosted! Cool, now if my mom had a time warp oven. They have settings for beverages, like coffee. I always leave my coffee and then forget where I put it. In the trusty microwave it went. In 95 seconds it was just like a freshly made coffee. Now where did I put it this time.
I hope that you find all this information helps. I included all the directions (well almost all) because when you are shopping they don't have the manuels out for inspections.
