Nice Quality, compact 4 port KVM
Written: May 20 '01
Pros:Compact, Sturdy design, clearly numbered LEDs, easy access for cables.
Cons:Not stackable.
The Bottom Line: Well made KVM Switch, digital, works with intellimouse, reasonably priced. Legible numbering and writing on the box itself. Unit beeps everytime you switch between any of the 4 computers connected.
I bought the Belkin KVM about 6 months and have not regretted buying it since day one. This unit is compact in size, so it does not make much space on your desk. The numbers for each port are clearly written which is accompanied by a bright red light that shows what PC you are using, so that you don't end up making changes on the wrong computer.
The unit is well designed with easily accessible controls. Cable ports are labeled. Once can use the PS2 mouse or a Serial mouse or use a Serial Mouse with PS2 adapter. The ports for the "main" mouse and keyboard are in the front, and connectors going to the Computers are in the back of the KVM Switch.
I use the switch everyday on 4 computers since the day I bought it and have not had any problems with it. Overall this is a very nice unit for the price.
If you have more than 4 Computers, this unit is not for you, as Omnicube KVM Switches cannot be daisy chained to another KVM switch, for that you would need the Belkin OmniVIEW model.
