Pros:Convenient, clean scent, trusted brand.
Cons:Kind of pricey.
The Bottom Line: It's the standard for convenience- it's cost efficient and TIME efficient. What more could you ask for $7 a month??
Ok, I'm a total neat freak. I love my house to look and smell clean, but I don't like to spend a lot of time keeping it that way. I'm all about small bursts of maintenance here and there, and then once about every 2 weeks I'll get down on the hands and knees and scrub the floor. If that doesn't sound like you, then Clorox Wipes may not be the thing for you.
When I was growing up (I still am, but that's off topic) Clorox was the way to go. You want something clean? Free of stains? Free of any kind of funky smell? Yep, that's a job for Clorox. I even think that "Clorox" has become the standard for bleaches and cleaners- only b/c when I say I need to get bleach at the store, I say "I need to pick up some Clorox," even though I may not come home with a bottle of bleach that has "Clorox" written on it. So, when these wipes were all the new rage, and Clorox released its cleaning power in a convenient wipe, I had to test it. I have trusted Clorox for so many years, what did I have to lose- there were other brands right?
Well, I was wrong. There is no other brand. I was slightly aghast at the price at first- a whopping $7 for a jar of 75 wipes- but I've done the true housewife test- I've tried all the brands there is to try, and I've decided that there is no other brand that's good enough. I thought I'd be smart and get the off brand that they sell at Dollar General or right next to the Clorox at Publix and Target, but to no avail. The other brands were either too rough, too soft, smelled funny, or were too wet or dry. Some of them were so thin, that when you pulled them out of the bottle they ripped. There were times that I bought an off brand, and for whatever reason all the wipes were completely dried out. They must have been sitting on the shelf too long- everyone else was buying Clorox. Apparently they all knew better.
Clorox has presented the best balance I've found to date- they are tough enough to scrub a little if you need to (for those caked on coffee puddles on my counter), and they have a pleasant smell. They come in a couple scents- my particular favorite being the teal bottle going by the name of "Fresh Scent." They aren't too saturated, which I found a few times with other brands. The last few in the bottle sometimes are, but that's to be expected. They aren't too hard to get out of the bottle- sometimes with other brands I was doing more fighting to get the stupid wipe out of the bottle that I was cleaning up my mess. Plus, they are anti-bacterial. Thanks Clorox :)
There isn't a whole lot I don't like about Clorox wipes- they are so convenient that it takes me less time to clean up after dinner so that I can spend more time doing the things I love- rather than worrying about if the kitchen is clean. I know there won't be germs left behind, and I can use them in a million different places- not just the kitchen. I have a bottle under the sink in every bathroom, and I try to keep one outside on my patio.
It's well worth the money you'll spend- anywhere from $6 to $7.50 a bottle, depending on the store and current sales. I always look for coupons in the paper and the internet. Most of the time I can get a big economy size (150 wipes I think?) for about $7. It takes me about a month to go through one bottle- sometimes less. But $7 a month for a germ free clean house? I'm game :)
