Barbie may have everything, but she doesn't need everything, and neither does my daughter.

My daughter is 3 1/2 and is WAY into Barbies. At first we had the normal blonde Barbie and then Kyra, with the black hair. But I couldn't stop there! Now we have Theresa (my personal favorite), Midge, Christie, Ballerina Barbie, 2 normal Kens, Lifeguard Ken (nice hair!), the black Ken (we call him Steven - not sure if that's his name), and many more...you get the picture. We also have vehicles, 2 houses, a trunk of clothes...AAAH! I just can't help it!

In retrospect there are a few I could have done without; Mermaid Barbie, for example. Now that tricky Mattel keeps coming out with more and more. Zoe wants the Jam 'n Glam girls and van for Xmas, and pretty much every other doll, accessory, item of clothing, etc. that we see. It's insane! We were just in Toys R Us this evening and I swear, I could have spent thousands in there, you know, in the PINK isle!

It is fun, yet expensive, having a girl, isn't it?

Great review!!

Great epinion - wonderful starter list for someone who either is just introducing their little girl to Barbie or who needs to get rid of the zillion and one accessories around the house.

My favorite Barbies were actually the ones that were different - I had two, the Colonial and Pioneer Barbies, that were realistic looking and still very pretty. I loved those and those are the ones I have stored in my closet (I gave the rest away). I also agree about buying additional clothes instead of buying more dolls; some of the separate Barbie dresses I got on birthdays are treasures now.

I'm rambling now! Thanks for a tremendous review,

Victoria
