From thrusday, May 17th till May 20th, I stayed at the Best Western in Athens, Texas. I knew right from the very first moment that I arrived there that I was in for a treat. When I went up to the front desk to check in, the lady accidently dropped something, then she said something funny and we both laughed. It was nice to finally see a real smile from a hotel staff member and not a fake one.
The lady at the front desk gave me easy directions to my room, which was very nice. After going there I decided to go for a swim. I was not sure how to get to the pool so I asked a maid. I should say the pool was outside, and it was 80 degrees which is cool in Texas. She told me where to go then she joked about how brave I was for swimming when it was kind of cool.
I must say that these two interactions were not an exception at the Best Western in Athens, Texas, but seemed to be the rule. I not only enjoyed to one-on-one interaction, but the fact that the rooms were always clean. Even if you opted not to have your sheets changed. Plus I liked the fact that when I decided to sleep in, I was not woken up by the maids.
I should also say that I enjoyed the resturant for breakfast, for the service was once again friendly at plentiful. Plus, the hotel has a nice little club that has kareoke on friday nights, which I think is a lot of fun.
