Devin Townsend pt. 1

Devin Townsend is as close to aural perfection as you are likely ever to be blessed to hear! Hard to find depending where you look, but worth the effort.

Yeah, I definitely appreciate the genius of Opeth, I have all their albums (although I actually haven't listened to much other than My Arms, Your Hearse... I recently increased my music collection by the hundreds and hundreds of albums, am still in the middle of actually listening to it all).... Devin isn't of the same vein musically, but I'm sure you'll like him... by the way, the closest I've ever heard to Opeth in terms of wildly varying styles of everything in one song would be Vintersorg's Cosmic Genesis album.... not as all over the place, more specialized but I like Vintersorg better actually. His earlier albums are much more straight black metal.

...I gotta check his stuff out. This review was compelling enough.

Opeth is the band closest to musical greatness that I've found so far, maybe this Townsend's work will do it.

A very good review.

Hey, did you know that Apocalyptica's new album has been released in the U.S. now? I've heard from Epinions member 'sleestakk', as well as from one of my friends, that it's amazing.
