Coincidence? (Reply to this comment)
by tipu
Here it hasn't been 24 hours yet since i first watched Apocalypse Now (or 4 hours yet since i rewatched it up to the I love the smell of napalm in the morning scene), then i got the urge to see if wvg has dumped anything new on this site and you're mentioning it here . . .
. . . to my uninitiated mind, it seems like 'Nam has burned itself on Hollywood's collective psyche more than any other war . . . even more than WWII . . . or perhaps that's just a matter of time? Who knows. i'm going to be going home to watch Taxi Driver in a few minutes though . . .
Eeeps! What made Sir Pyle lose his spittle here? Bad hair da-eh, never mind . . . (~;
Thanks for writing Elle! ...t-þoo

How typical. (re, I can't believe...) (Reply to this comment)

It is very common to start a debate with epithets and threats especially by someone who considers himself “a peer”. “Punk”? “Paperweights”? No dear sir, I am certainly not “Your pal”. Elle is my better and I might be clueless but you are not fit to make a judgement of that. If you want to advertise the merits of a military manual please do and let’s see how far “your gag order” will get you.
Best regards,

I Can't Believe ... (Re: Can't believe nobody left a comment...) (Reply to this comment)

The first comment out of the box is from an incoherent prick.
Not sure what if anything you're trying to say, punk, but the term 'clueless' behooves such as you but slightly - unless used self-referentially.
Mouth off like this again, pal, and I'll have your balls for paperweights. I don't give a flying ------ about your views one way or the other, but I won't tolerate your chickensh-t attitude towards your betters - and God knows Elle is that.

Good review even if you are still clueless who is responsible for "the sacrifices". Slogans are not about history but about politics and that's what this book is about. And no, Vietnam was not about THIS COUNTRY!
