Great table radio

Written: May 21 '01
Pros:Great sound, great controls.
Cons:None
The Bottom Line: Excellent product; the designers must have consulted users (very unusual).

I found out about (Soundworks) Kloss-88 while researching the similar bose radio. The kloss cost half as much and IMHO is a better radio. The sound and reception are great. But just as importantly, it is easy to use. With so many electronics products loaded with clutzy controls (mostly useless bells and whistles), this radio is a pleasure to use. The remote is small and simple but fully functional. Six presets are all I need. The remote is very simple to use (and learn) e.g. to set a station, just hold the button down for a couple of seconds. Any button can be set to any station. The remote's controls are membrane which is good since it sits on my kitchen table. The radio controls are tactile (not membrane) and solid. Also, they are large, well spaced, and on the front where they should be (just think of all the junk that ends up sitting on top).
