Hi from another Torontonian (Reply to this comment)

I read this missive with interest, since I have just joined epinions, and like you I will need $100 before I see a cheque. IS really is a mystery, but if I understand correctly, this will change as of NOV 1, meaning we will all see what pays, what kind of hits count etc.

Your stats really surprised me. First, I thought that Cars would be a high paying category and that non-member hits counted for more with IS.

I look forward to reading more of your reviews :)

I've basically noticed the same problem as you have...the trouble here is that either Epinions is in trouble and they're cutting pay to stay afloat, or it's simply because the executives want to get more money out of this...

In the days when I was new, I only had 2-3 reviews...but even then, I was making $1 a month on income share...sometimes it rose even to as much as $2.50! Now I've already written 26 reviews, but the Income Share has ironically fallen to about $1 a month! That's really odd...but I believe we are writing for the mere pleasure now.

I have to get $100 in my account before cashing out. I really don't know if I will ever make it there, but rest assured that you're definitely not alone. I think we should pursue our interests rather than money at this site...that's the only way we can get some joy out of it!

BTW, nice to see you back again after such a long break!

Like you, I need a 100 bucks. Once I reach that, I'm GONE. No more Epinions. Ever. It's an insult to hear that they're "paying" us. When that time comes, and I reach the magic 100, I'm out...and not to sound cocky, but Epinions will have lost a good writer, because of their idiot methods.

I agree completely - I don't understand income share! I reckon they dole it out randomly. It's also supposed to be something to do with how many people purchase the product after reading your review. I can sympathise with the $100 problem - I have the same crisis and, making about 50 cents income share a month, it could take me 16 years!
