favic's Full Review: The Legend Of Zelda Ocarina Of Time for Nintendo 6...
The Facts Behind The Legend
We first saw this title debut on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES, 8-Bit Proccessor) with rave reviews. Gamers every where loved this game the second they picked it up. And it is only logical for Nintendo to reinvent an old classic for the year 2000. The new version, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is true to the original NES title. Original characters and plot were revised to suite Nintendo's needs in today's culture. The long awaited sequel to the NES version was released in late 1999. Boy was there hype! If you didn't hear about Zelda on the news, or read it in the papers, you must have been living under a rock..not a rock more like a boulder! All the gamers were skeptical, they weren't sure if the cart would live up to all this hype. And believe it or not, Nintendo pulled it off by recreating the ultimate sequel to a hit series!
Gameplay
The game is played with similar controls to Super Mario 64. Super Mario is another role playing game. It will take some time to get every control down, there are sveral moves and jumps you will need to figure out before actually playing the game. The gameplay is simply perfect. There are many camera angles in the game itself. Some are manual by using the C-Pad or the "yellow-buttons." Most role playing games do not last to long. Major gamers can defeat most of today's RPG's in several hours, but I believe they will have a challenge in Zelda. Without a stratedgy guide, this game is difficult to beat and will provide days of challengeing fun. Many mini games within the game itself also add to the fun.
Graphics
The visuals are quite impressive for a Nintendo 64 game. Some scens seem almost movie like. It is one of the best looking games on the 64 bit unit. The bosses at every level are done with such detail and care. Lighting effects are amazing. Textures and backgrounds are detailed and in depth as well.
Sound FX / Music
There are a lot of peaceful beats that help you along your journey. Many additional sound effects add to the experience of the legend of Zelda.
Lasting Appeal
The game will keep you busy and hooked for a good period of time. Awesome graphics and sounds will make you come back for more. There are also many adventures in the game. And mini games. For example fishing, puzzels, and other fun challenges.
