The T55 comes in two flavors, the T55A (Analog) and T55D (Digital). I purchased the T55A.
Installation is just like any other monitor in Windows, just plug in, load the monitor information files found on the IBM CD and you are set.
Image quality is decent, but the screen seems to have this "glow" that softens what shows up on the screen. It takes away from the "crispness" of text characters, which makes it difficult to look at after a while.
The native resolution for this monitor is 1024x768 which is pretty standard for 15" LCDs. Just like most other LCDs, displaying at other resolutions looks terrible. I've only had this monitor for 6 months and it's already problematic. After a few minutes, I lose every other column of pixels. Color also changes every once in a while. I do not know if this is a problem seen on all T55s though.
Based on my other experiences with monitors, I'd opt for a Samsung model or even a Viewsonic (not that great, but their price drops place them into consideration). The higher price tag (likely due to the IBM brand name) is another reason to stay away from this inferior display.
