Bought the printer 1 1/2 year ago
Scanner glass was very dirty, not easy to clean you have to take the complete upper part off the machine so you need a Torx screwdriver
Color of the scanner not good at all, dull and a green haze.
Software delivered with the apparatus is a disaster, not easy to install, some functions did not work and takes more than 200MB disk space for programs i don't need, the 2nd software install i downloaded the software from the site of HP this was a bit better now all the functions are working.
Last week i got PAPER JAM after it had printed a 1/2 page.
At half the page it stops printing and grabs 4 to 5 new sheets of paper and then resume printing the other half of the page, before page end it stops and displays PAPER JAM.
The printer functions OK when i feed id sheet by sheet.
I went to the store where i bought the machine for repair.
They told me you have a problem, the machine is out of warranty!! so look on the site of HP for the nearest authorized repair shop.
I found a local repair shop on their site and i called the shop, the man from the shop told me that the psc2410 was just a consumer machine and not easy to repair, i could bring it in but investigation cost $100 and repair it takes at least 1 hour so again $100 the total bill with materials and tax would be over $250 !! nearly the price of a new machine!!
Then i contacted HP Netherlands, after a session with the "tinned Mary" and another 0900 telephone number, they told me that i could bring it to an local HP service counter, that's what i did. There i heard the same story about repair price.
I went back home and took the machine apart for recycling in just 1/2 hour (5 minutes when i had used an axe).
I am planning to by a new one but nevermore a HP brand
For me HP stands for "High Price"
