Holiday Inn - Universal Orlando
Written: May 22 '01
Pros:Excellent location, rate, room
Cons:NO Breakfast of any kind, Air Conditioner wasn't cold enough
The Bottom Line: I totally recommend this location for anyone that wants to see the sights in Orlando. It takes some relief off of the pocketbook.
We just got back from Orlando and we stayed at the Holiday Inn that was located directly across the street of Universal Studios. From out balcony we could see the entrance of the park. We booked our trip about two months early and got an unbelievable rate of $69.00 a night. Not bad considering its location and we got an open-air balcony. We got a king sized bed room with 2 sinks and a good sized TV. The water pressure was pretty good and the water was plenty hot.
The only two real disadvantages of the hotel was that there was no breakfast and the air conditioner wasn't blowing that cold. We had to go to the adjacent T.G.I. Fridays and pay $7.95 per person for breakfast. I was surprised that Holiday Inn did not offer any sort of coffee and donut style contential breakfast. And the dreaded air conditioner. It wasn't horrible it just did have a good blast of cold air coming from it. It kept the room cold after the sun went down and through the night, but during the day it was kinda muggy in the room.
All in all, I totally recommend this location for anyone that wants to see the sights in Orlando. It takes some relief off of the pocketbook, and lets you spend cash on other things.
