My kids are lean, mean, stain machines. Not a day goes by when there isnt some sort of hard to remove stain on someones clothes. I had seen television commercials for the new Spray 'n Wash Dual Power Laundry Stain Remover so I decided to pick up a bottle.
The Basics
Spray 'n Wash Dual Power Laundry Stain Remover is two separate laundry cleaners in one. The hourglass shaped bottle contains two separate but joined bottles, totaling 22 oz. The pink liquid is a Spray and Wash stain removing formula while the clear liquid contains Oxy Action. When you squeeze the bottle to streams of cleaner come out and join into a single stream that you aim directly on the stain. Spray 'n Wash Dual Power Laundry Stain Remover can also be added directly to the wash water.
My Experience
There is never a lack of test laundry in this house. As soon as I brought Spray 'n Wash Dual Power Laundry Stain Remover I was ready to give it a try. I have a terrible time getting food stains out of my childrens clothes, particularly anything tomato based. It is not unusual for me to have to wash clothes 4 or 5 times to get the stains out; but not any more!
I was quite impressed with Spray 'n Wash Dual Power Laundry Stain Remover. On the first load I used it on ketchup stains that had already been washed and some black specks of unknown origin that I had given up trying to get off a pair of shorts. One wash and those stains were off of the 100% cotton clothes.
Ive continued to use it with similar success. Some stains do require a second treatment and washing but so far Spray 'n Wash Dual Power Laundry Stain Remover has outperformed my usual Shout. It has taken care of mud, fruit punch, tomato sauce, soup and chocolate with no more than two washings required.
The cleaner is very thin, almost like water so you need to hold the bottle close to the stain to make sure you are getting the cleaner exactly where you want it. But the directions caution not to touch the bottle top to the clothing or cross-contamination of the cleaning products can occur. When you have the right balance of both cleaners the puddle on your clothes starts to foam up. It reminds me of peroxide on a cut, in fact it contains hydrogen peroxide but no phosphate. Wait 5 minutes and then wash as usual. For tough stains you can rub the cleaner in before washing. Spray 'n Wash Dual Power Laundry Stain Remover should only be used on water washable fabrics but is not recommended for wool, khaki, fluorescent clothing or washable silk.
The bottle can be a little difficult to work with. You are supposed to squeeze the bottle evenly to ensure you get equal amounts of both cleaners on the stains. Apparently I am not performing that task very well. With about 1/3 of the bottle of cleaner used there is a noticeable difference in the level of cleaner left in the bottle. I am trying to take extra care to squeeze evenly, but I do think Spray n Wash should take another look at the bottle design.
Final Thoughts
The cleaning power of Spray 'n Wash Dual Power Laundry Stain Remover is amazing. The bottle is a little difficult to work with but worth the trouble. We have exceptionally hard water and I have a trough time finding anything that cleans well. When I finally find something that works I stick with it. Spray 'n Wash Dual Power Laundry Stain Remover has a permanent place in my laundry room.
