The Bottom Line Juice is good for you. Kids love it.
Being that juice is now my son's favorite drink, I thought it might benefit you to hear of my experiences. The first thing I check when looking at purchasing a juice is if it is actually a juice. If it says drink or has only a small percentage of juice in it, the container is left in its sad little aisle. Secondly, I check price. I can often find the same juice at a cheaper price and try to do this as often as possible. Did I say my son loves juice? You can imagine the cost. My son is 13 months old and especially likes apple juice, but will drink any and all other forms if offered to him. I still water his juice down because I don't want him to drink too much to start forming cavities. I however do want him to continue to drink, so I will still offer the juice, watered down throughout the day. Flavored water seems to be a hit, so I will stick with it for now. Be very careful if sugar is added to juice. This can cause MAJOR cavities in your little ones mouth. If you prefer you can purchase the jarred juices in the baby food aisle that are pure. Lastly, the worst thing you can do with juice is to place it in a bottle for you child before bed. Number one it simply tastes horible. Have you ever had orange juice after brushing your teeth? ANd number two-it can cause more problems than any parent wants to deal with. |
